hey guys!
This past weekend was craziness with friends in from out of town - lots of drinking and dancing. It was overall a good time, but I know that my workout Friday was a complete waste because my body didn't get to recover.
No real running happened. It's pouring rain here today, so I could just as easily miss another day, but instead I'll be hitting up the treadmill. Which is boring, yes. but I have good music to keep me entertained.
Having Runner's World as my homepage helps too. It keeps me inspired, even in mucky weather.
This week will be busy for me. I start a new job Wednesday -- my first office job since April-ish. So my training will be moved to the evening times. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Also, I start a 16 week Marathon Training Schedule this week. I'm scared of the long runs because I don't know where I will do them -- I live in metro Atlanta and 20 miles on a treadmill or running a 1 mile loop over and over may actually bore me to death.
I've been looking at new shoes because mine are about to fall apart. I overpronate and I currently run in some pretty amazing asics, so I want to get a new pair in the next month or so.
And I've started looking at t-shirt slogans because I want a cute shirt while running. (I think you shouldn't wear the race shirt until you FINISH)
I've seen alot!
"WIll run for ---"
"I am stronger than I think I am" (repeated)
" Doubt Me. Please."
"26.2 miles of truth "
"I have -- & --. If I can finish, you can to."
"Find your happy pace"
"Waddle on"
My 2 fav's right now are::
"I run because now I can"
"This seemed like a good idea 3 months ago."
Anyways, that is all.

Enjoy!!

I've Decided
I’ve recently moved back to Atlanta. With that comes newness. Everywhere.
I am making the most of it.
& I’ve decided to take this opportunity to be active & healthy since I lost that in Maine when it got cold -- there’s no excuse here! I joined a gym and got a trainer. I am running again - training for a full marathon this time. Kickboxing twice a week and weight training 3x a week. I want to play rugby in the spring, but it’s just now fall and I don’t want to look too far ahead.
So back to this Marathon. I’ve never done one. I completed a half last year in Maine. with a lot of help and support from a good friend. I’m doing it here in GA pretty much on my own. But, I am following a training program that I got from MarathonRookie.com. Its a 16 week program, which is perfect because I had roughly 20 weeks. So yeah. I will be using this blog to track what’s going on. I’m already sore, mostly from weight training, but I must be doing something right.
Goal -- PUBLIX GEORGIA MARATHON - March 20, 2011
Ready, Set, Go.
